With all this talk about quinoa, how could I have missed Savvy Julie’s recipe for Breakfast Quinoa Balls!? With the main ingredients being quinoa and nut butter, I obviously had to give them a try.

Delish!
I made a few adjustments to Julie’s recipe, such as:
- sunflower seed butter instead of homemade almond butter
- honey instead of agave nectar
- omitted the brown sugar
- added an egg yolk (per Julie’s suggestion)
I think the egg yolk did the trick because these had a nearly perfect consistency. Well…almost

Forming the balls was a sticky situation, but someone had to do it!
I ate one straight out of the oven.

…Followed by two more a bit later. My lunch also included a bowl of kale (sauteed in coconut oil) topped with feta cheese.

Other eats from today include one last piece of Peanut Butter Protein Fudge…topped with a dollop of fluff.

And breakfast was a Banana Walnut Loaf from Starbucks.

A huge storm early this morning left us without power for a few hours, so Starbucks became my office for the first half of the day. MMH also refused to let me open the fridge (so the food wouldn’t go bad), hence the ‘Bucks breakfast. But I mean, I’m always looking for a reason to eat cake for breakfast, so I didn’t mind
The crazy morning gave me an excuse didn’t allow for me to do my planned morning workout, so I’m hoping to squeeze that in this afternoon. I’ve come to realize that exercising at home doesn’t come easily to me. If I plan to go to the gym, though, I barely ever back out…
Gotta run! Enjoy the rest of your day, babes! xoxo G
- Do you find it easier or more difficult to stick to at-home workouts?

YES. Jillian is always waiting for me in the DVR, but I often overlook her.
Luckily I’ve been playing a lot of tennis lately. Fun stuff like that doesn’t feel like “working” out and is so much more fun to me
Can you put the recipe for it since you used nut butter instead of making your own. Looks delish!! Thanks!
I never, ever stick to home workouts. That’s why I have a gym membership. Plus, I don’t push myself nearly as hard at home as I do at the gym.
I’m glad you liked them (well, i assume you did since you’ve already had 3
). The dough is mega-sticky, but totally worth it in the end.
I can never stick to at-home workouts! I can do them every now and then, but not regularly. Too distracting!
I actually really like working out at home, but lately I’ve been hitting the gym for my strength routines. I just need some more variety than a chair and a ball I guess. Those cookies look delicious! Totally need to try them!
I love working out at home for the time it saves and I do so a lot when I have a bitty baby…but it is SO hard to get started. When a couch is staring you in the face I think it’s hard to get motivated to do anything. LOL
I’m definitely better at out-of-the-house workouts because then I have to stick to a certain schedule instead of just pushing it back all day.
I’m best able to stick to my routine when it consists of a combination of gym and at-home workouts. The at-home ones allow me to sleep in a little more, so it’s nice to throw them in once or twice during the work week.
Ohh quinoa in a breakfast ball!? How intriguing!!
Yup, buying quinoa tomorrow – no question.
I am actually a hug fan of at home workouts. I adore rolling out of bed, whipping out a few moves, then hitting the kitchen right quick to refuel. I’m all about convenience.
Thanks for the recipe! I was going to make some quinoa cookies this weekend and this general recipe may help
I prefer going to classes: Bikram, Spinning, etc because they keep me focused for much longer than I would be alone!
We have a full gym at our house so it is easy for me to work out at home. It is my favorite!
I have such a wide collection of DVD’s that if I need to workout at home I can make it happen, I just try not to rely on it as my main workout. I have some seven Denise Austin DVDs and of course, the dreaded Shred.
I’m totally on a yoga craze now so I spend a lot of my time at the yoga studio!
Oo your quinoa balls look amazing! I will have to try them for sure.
I have a hard time sticking to at home workouts because I always have some excuse to find something better/more productive to do. I find when I go somewhere to workout/exercise I am more likely to stick with it, especially if I am meeting a friend!
[...] speaking of quinoa… [...]
I’ve never tried using quinoa in baking, but those balls look so good!
I never workout at home because I don’t really have any equipment. Sometimes I’ll do a few crunches and lunges while I’m watching tv, but I wouldn’t really call that a workout.
I bought quinoa yesterday & might try a creation for dinner tonight. im excited.
baking it sounds fun!
I always go to the gym, i’ve got a gym here in my building so no excuses!
Oooh, those quinoa balls look yummy!
I only workout at home, so I always found it to be convenient.
